Whether you’re already a fan of comics or looking for a new way to inspire learners, this session is for you. Discover free and inexpensive comic creation tools and online support, learn how to help students apply the writing process to comic design, learn how to hook your reluctant readers, and discover the power of teaching through comics.

Reading Comics:
Need to process, panels, etc.
Good for reluctant or below level readers to practice
Students tend to work together to figure it out
"Sticky Burr" available online - have students read and take on different characters

ToonBooks - Benny and Penny and the Big No No
Has a comic maker that already has the characters and students can expand the story
Also has a "Read to Me' choice
